Welcome to the edge of Plex for Windows and Plex for Mac development. From time to time we’ll share preview releases with our forum users. Typically this is a sign that we need your help finding unexpected behavior in these new builds.

What’s available?

There is no preview build available. We’ll share another when there are important features to get feedback on early.

How do I use a preview build?

You should replace your existing Plex for Windows and Plex for Mac installations.

How do I stop using a preview build?

If you’d like to immediately stop using the preview build then please uninstall Plex for Windows or Plex for Mac and download the latest public release from our downloads page.

Version 1.4 has been released: Plex for Mac and Windows

Version 1.4 is ready for preview.

Included are fixes for TV show and season downloads involving unwatched episodes, using Desktop in mixed network conditions, and, drumroll please…, MacOS Catalina support!

Catalina support required updating to a newer version of Qt. Qt is the software that bridges the distance between our application and the operating system. Please keep an eye on system behaviors like window handling, fullscreen, media playback, and media keys. You know, all the usual suspects.

Version 1.5 has been released: Plex for Mac and Windows

Version 1.5 is ready for preview.

Long standing subtitle size and external subtitle handling issues have been fixed. Also, Plex Web has been updated from 4.10.1 to 4.18.1.
