Blank interface, source and library appear when searching, nothing plays

I’ve tried re-installing and when I launch Plex Amp it’s a blank interface. If I hover over it I can see a toolbar and click in it and my library shows. Clicking anything however yields no results, the my cursor will just keep spinning. Have rebooted, completely wiped it out and reinstalled. I can play through my browser, and mobile devices without issue. When I right click on the icon in sys tray and look at sources I can see my server, as well as a friends server. Neither play anything. However, when I’m playing through my browser and look at the “recently played” area on the app I can see the songs that have played through my browser. Interesting. Nothing changed on my PC except a reboot that caused this. It was working fine for months. Possible Windows update broke it?

It’s likely the player is crashing or isn’t starting for some reason. One known cause of this is having the NODE_ENV environment variable set,.

Great…how does one go about setting that variable? Or what can I do on my end to help?

To clarify, it’s an issue if you have it set. If you have to ask, you probably don’t

Otherwise, I’m not sure I know what to recommend. If you post the Plexamp logs I can confirm the issue with with player not starting.

Gotcha; not sure how to upload them.Application.log (411.9 KB)

It does look like the server process isn’t able to run. I’m not sure what to recommend, as the only known reason for that is either having NODE_ENV set incorrect, or TEMP or TMPDIR set weirdly. Can you post what your environment variables look like?

That all looks fine to me. Sorry, I’m not sure what to suggest at the moment.

Weird idea: look into your anti virus log files. Sometimes a lesser known software is blocked by their reputation-based heuristics.

If the antivirus provides that, define an exemption from blocking for the plexamp.exe (usually found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\plexamp\Plexamp.exe )

Thanks for the input, unfortunately (or fortunately) I don’t run AV on this machine.

I ended up uninstalling again and blowing out all the ‘plexamp’ folders post uninstall. Reinstalled and it’s working now. Thanks for the help guys.
