Botched Update - Please install Manually problems

Player Version#:
Update now, failed. Install manually failed.
Uninstall per directions including directories and registry.
Rebooted.
Tried fresh install. Error looking for previous version pms.msi package component.
Installation failed.

Tried more than 3 times and even tried install to different directory.
I have not seen any articles addressing this, but I have gotten the same error on my Win 10 computer, but have not done anything as it is used less often and the upgrade would have been inconsequential for my situation.
I am running Win 7 Pro.

Can anyone help?
