Bought Asus RT-AX86U to replace my Verizon one, unable to setup port fowarding

Here are the steps that I have already taken,

  1. Went to router.asus.com -> I click on my device and check MAC and IP Address Binding
  2. Then went to WAN -> Virtual Server/ Port Forwarding and I setup the following
  3. I also disable the firewall as well

Any tips would help a lot!

Is 5000 what you put in the Plex for the remote port?
Have you tried to disable manual port specification and let Plex try to setup the router it’s self? Most newer routers support auto configurations.

Tried that but I still get this

I’m currently trying 50000 port

I double check and UPnP is checked already

Do you have it enabled in the router too

Yup

Yup I did

I don’t think it is a double nat situation, because my wan ip is 108…

You can check for double NAT by looking at what your WAN IP address is and then do a whats my ip and see if it is the same.

When changing routers, be sure to check that Windows still categorizes your network as a private network. It is possible that it switched you to a public network and Windows firewall is blocking access to your system.

Your Asus port forwarding looks correct, pending the port matches the config in your Plex > Settings > Remote Access page.

I check and yes you were right, it was public and not private. Once I switch it, it worked! thanks @Uh_Oh and @Alucard1 for your help!
