Brand New Amazon Fire TV Stick Will Not Resume Playback When Pausing

I just bought a new Amazon Fire TV Stick for Black Friday. I cannot seem to get it to resume playback where I left off. When I play a TV Show or Movie, most of the time I have to pause and come back to it later. When I do that Plex will not remember where I left off so I have to fast forward to where I think the right spot is. Please help as I may need to try a different streaming device if this continues. Thanks

Update: Yesterday out of the blue the resuming where leaving off feature started working. My Plex Firmware and Fire TV Stick Firmware did not change. I wonder why this is ?

Any advice on this would be appreciated.
