Hello,
I wanted to use plex as audio player and for that I synced my music libary but if I go to Downloads & Sync and click a entry I get “An error occurred while playing this item.”
I don’t know if it is a error that plex remuxes flac in mkv or if you do that on purpose. The only thing I know is that whatever there is done does not work on my Device.
And the new Downloads instead a Sync function does not work currently because there is the download button missing
With Sync enabled Download button is there.
But that defeats the purpose of plex for me. My goal is to have plex Sync everything and if I upload a new song on my server that plex syncs it automatically on my device as soon as it got wifi. Or is it possible to auto add new songs to that playlist?
Why?
You could simply create a folder on the filesystem for plex which is readable for all applications. Whatsapp does the same and I never saw anybody complaining that that breaks wahtsapp. That would make plex actually a lot more usefull on mobile, because the player has so many strange quirks like keep playing after the bluetooth device that was used to play the music disconnects.
That is the way the app/feature is designed. Sure it could be changed, but that wasn’t the intent. There is already a feature request to allow users to pick a different location. Please vote for it if this is of interest to you.
