What happened to our ability to browse our videos by folder? This is how I’ve always used Plex for the past decade and how my videos are organized. Now when I go from Movies to Folder all the nice options on the right hand side vanish. There’s just the one view. The help documentation says: “Browse By Folder is a sticky setting, letting you use Grid, List, or Summary view to browse your drive’s directory structure.”
Where can I find this sticky setting? I’ve looked in both the web and MacOS app for it.
Ah if it has been gone for a while, I may only be noticing it now because I’m moving to a new NAS. I can’t figure out how to move my playlist so I figured “it won’t be too hard to recreate them” but it very much is hard since I don’t have condensed list views of my folder contents anymore. I don’t understand why you’d take a feature away and not give us an obvious one like moving a playlist.
Am I understanding correctly that List View still exists in other app versions? Android isn’t an option for me. What is “local access”?
The hosted web app (app.plex.tv) is a browser-based app. Your server runs its own web server with a browser-based app, which you can access by entering the SERVER-IP:32400/web. This browser app is usually several versions behind the online hosted player (the one at app.plex.tv). So when they took it out of the online browser app and the Windows client, they hadn’t yet gotten around to removing it from the android app. And if you didn’t update your server after that point, your own server’s web client would still have that feature.
Since that all was reported in april of last year, I bet it is definitely gone from those two clients by now…
