There is no longer a grid view for folders. It was much easier with grid view. Now I have to scroll to see all of my folders. Please put it back, it is not necessary to have folders in a list view. And it is not useful at all.

For some reason Plex have decided to remove those options
The options are (currently) still in the local web app.
Is not available via the Filters, not ideal but possible
Likewise, the grid view was far easier to navigate and use. A retrograde step and will have to revert to earlier Plex server version until this is resolved.

please plex, i had all my movies sorted by genre per map and displayed in grid view/poster view. now it is gone it looks terrible on the eye compared to the grid view option. please put this back as soon as you can. Thankyou!.

Yes please put it back. This is worse than I first realised because not only are the folders displayed as a list but also all movies in the folder can now only be viewed as a list. Grid view looked much nicer and was much easier to navigate.
Please put it back. It should be an option regardless as with TV Shows.
Why hasnāt this been fixed yet ? This is a awful change.
This was a bad decision to eliminate the GRID view for folders. Making a change without any regard to the current users is fundamentally a poor business practice. Please bring this back!

I donāt seek things out much, but I find some frustration with Plex every time they update it.
The new UI is terrible (Home Screen Order Customization Now closed) and this folder view removal is stupid.
I was really excited by Plex early one, but then they started intentionally removing features. And considering it feels like we usually have to update twice because the first date broke something, itās just become sooooo frustrating.
Stuff like this is the reason I will never buy a Plex Pass. (ā¦and I came close just before they announced removal of picture upload. 
)

This was, quite frankly, a retarded decision to make, to get rid grid view when viewing by Folders.
No clue what Plex were āthinkingā here, as to why removing a very useful choice was a good idea.
I 100% agree with everyone on this post about the Grid View missing for Folders.
***PLEASE Plex Admins (or whoever makes the decisions on changes like this at Rockwell Automations) - Bring Back Grid View for FOLDERS!!! I would love to know the reasoning behind changes like thisā¦maybe they just want to see exactly how irritated their users get on things like this. - Listen to the Massesā¦fix it.

I donāt see any positive in removing grid view at all.
If the devs think that most people find list view for folders more useful, then fine, set that as the default. At least let the rest of us have the option to switch to grid view. Itās win in this way. Whatās the downside? The app would be 0.1kb larger? š¤·š½
I (and I imagine many others) like to use libraries as overarching categories and then use folders within a library as subcategories.
The issue with list view for folders is that it creates 2 different and inconsistent user experiences depending on whether you want to view all media in a library or if you want to filter down into a folder.
The option is called āFoldersā, not āList Viewā. From a UX perspective, thereās nothing about choosing the Folders option that would have a user expect the UI to change, making it jarring.
To make things worse, the Android app on Google TV adds yet another differing viewing UI. Sure, viewing folders does appear in grid view on there, but for some reason, the aspect ratio of thumbnails becomes portrait for all media. The same media which would normally be shown with a 16:9 aspect ratio thumbnail in Movies view, now look like theyāre expecting to display a movie poster that doesnāt exist.
Please bring back grid view and make the experience consistent. Thereās no downside to having it as an option.
Totally agree with the folks who lament the loss of grid view when in folder mode or inside a folderā¦ I have folders with hundreds of movies, and having to scroll through those is simply not usable. Really just posting this to keep the thread alive a while longer in the hopes this gets addressedā¦

FIX THIS NOW!! Your app has become stupidly unusable.
I donāt think they will ever do anything about this. They donāt seem to care. At least they could bring it back with a switch to turn it on and off.

This is why I never update Plex, but unfortunately I had to reinstall Windows which led to reinstalling Plex. As usual, every update is worse than the last and now Iām stuck with an unusable Folder view.
Yes, awful change. There has been a lot of change to āAppifyā what was and should be a full robust, customizable interface.
