Which Linkstation do you have? Older models tend to need more time to start up. Try the restart button, then leave it for a few minutes and then try to open the media manager page. (Connection refused means that the service didn't start properly.)

Gary,
I have this same issue on my LS-WVL. I have restarted the service and the unit multiple times.
hope i can get it going as i have been looking for this for some time.
I have an issue on my Buffalo LS-XL with latest tomato firmware (v1.69). I'm not able to find where could be turned on in the settings the transmission gui and plex service.
Could you please help me to find and enable transmission gui, because this stupid utorrent webui is annoying me..
I have the firmware 1.69-Chris running well on my LS-QVL4BB. I would like to mount drives on my network that are not directly connected to the NAS. I think I can do this in Linux, but I can't login using SSH. The connection is made but the root/password combination does not work.
Do I have the default username/password correct? Do you know if I can mount my other network drives so that Plex can read them.

Hi Gary
I am having the same issue as joeyfig and John.
I have successfully installed 1.69Chris on my LS-QVL31C. The connection is always refused when I attempt to open Media manager. Tried it on several different browsers and devices and after waiting several minutes after restarting PMS. What am I and the others doing wrong?
hi! i just got my Buffalo Linkstation 410 series. Can anyone help me install plex media server to my NAS so i could be able to play it on my roku? here is my email if anyone would like to help me. Thanks a lot
Is this firmware capable of installing openvpn on? I know the stock version doesn't have the TUN/TAP dependencies which causes openvpn useless. Any info on this would be great.
Hi
an update on my previous issue, where Plex would not start. My LS-QVL31C was a recent purchase and I only had 1 HDD in it. For some reason I had placed this in slot 2 of the NAS. I subsequently moved it to slot 1 and Plex now works fine.
Maybe this is of use to others with same problem(joeyfig or John)
Does anybody know how to update the version of plea running on this image? The lib’s and executables are all in the plexroot but not in a standard directory so don’t know a easy way to put everything.
A few comments to the previous questions and notes:
A new version of the firmware is released, check out this blog post for more info or go to the project page and download it (at the bottom). It has Plex 0.9.12 in it with other fixes.
This firmware is NOT compatible with any of the LS200 or LS400 series Linkstations. Those Linkstations have a different CPU and a different firmware. If you go to the FAQ page of this firmware you’ll find more infomration about it. I’m not aware of anyone creating custom firmwares for that right now.
Consider Derek’s fix above for LS-QVL issues. Unfortunately I don’t have that hardware and with the four hard drives it’s a bit different setup. I wish I could troubleshoot it better…
I have just loaded 1.71 on my LS-WVLD0E all went well until Plex started to update movie files. The files are there and can play but it appears the process stopped half way through without providing descriptions, plot summaries, posters etc. I have tried to update the whole library but it tells me that more data is being downloaded. I tried to refresh each file but plex says its finished processing. Any help would be appreciated.
Plex Media Server 0.9.12 is added to the firmware.
Regular updates on new versions and details of the development is available on the project blog.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for all the work you’ve been doing. I know you just put out the Halloween firmware for the Linkstation, but when I installed it, Plex said that there is an update available for the Plex server software and it won’t let me continue with the old server software without updating. InI looks like the Halloween firmware included Plex Server 0.9.12.13 and it looks like 0.9.12.19 is the current version. Am I doing something wrong? How do I update this?
The reason this won’t work as a server is because I got the new AppleTV, and apparently that requires Plex Server 0.9.12.18 or higher. Again, any ideas on how to update to this?
Hi GaryT!
Great job!
I’ve installed 1.71-Halloween on my LS-WXL and it works. But when I tried to configure the server settings I get the message, that there was a problem when logging in Plex. Username and password are correct because I can login on plex.tv
thanks for your help.
Hi Gary, thanks for all the hard work on this firmware, I got it installed and the server is running, But I can’t seem to load any plex tv channels to install. I am new to plex itself, Is there something I need to do to get these to load?
