Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo with Plex Media Server

Hello GaryT,
first of all congratulations for the Buffalo LinkStation firmware + Plex media server!
I’m writing to ask you a question about the proper firmware.
I have a Buffalo LinkStation Duo LS / WXL (LS-WX2.0TL / R1), when I open Plex webaccess and try to set the folder “share” (or a subfolder) for movies, tv series or other, he says “can not save the specified settings.” Can you tell me why? I do not set any folder where to pick up the movie …
I ask for help because I have tried in many ways but I have not solved anything.
Thanks so much

You will probably have to solve file permissions first.

I want to thank the people involved in this CF, it really gives these NAS boxes an added value.

I’m sorry, I gave you a wrong answer in my last post.
You should follow the FAQ, the answer is in nº 2:
tomatosoft.hu/gadgets/firmwarefaq/

Hello Gary and others,

I’m relatively new to this, but I’ve managed to get the most recent firmware up and running on my LS-CHL V2. I’ve scoured the FAQ and other forums on the web, but can’t seem to find a solution to the issue presented in FAQ question no. 2. The language dropdown never populates in the “Add Library” dialogue in Plex settings, no matter how long I wait for the NAS to process it. I’ve tried following the other suggestions (including changing the web language settings to English (UK) as mentioned in some online forums), but also can’t manage to connect to the NAS through SSH with PuTTY to try and clear out the System and Framework bundles.

I do see that in the server settings it says there is an update available (to Plex v. 1.31) but that I need to install manually, which I also can’t quite figure out how to do. I am assuming it would need to be done somehow through the LS admin interface, but I don’t see any obvious way of doing so. Some of the forums for other NAS devices mention methods of updating manually through the admin interface, but I don’t see any such option on the Buffalo interface.

Anyone else experiencing this who managed to find a solution?

Thanks!

Hi @GaryT !

Sorry to disturb you, but I would like to go back on the firmware, and the link allowing it no longer works!
Could you put it somewhere else?
Thank you very much !

Mickaël
