I discovered an issue. Let me start off by telling you what I did. I bought a new router, plugged it in. Hated Router, all sorts of problems. Returned router. Reconnected old router again. Plex showed up and worked for me. I then went in remote access. Enabled it. It showed I was connected to the internet. So I thought all was well. Plex said it’s connected to outside my house.
A few days later I get a couple calls from my family members who access it remotely. Asking why they can’t connect to my server. All they get were red triangles. They had no idea what’s going on. I looked into Plex UI, it shows me as connected. So I rebooted NAS server and Router. Still no luck.
After trying everything. I went into Port Forwarding and noticed when reconnecting my router I went from xxx.xxx.x.135 to xxx.xxx.x.137. So I actually DID NOT have a port open. Once I changed this, it worked for everyone.
The bug is that it says connected even if it isn’t.
A bug fix/feature request would be a better way to let me (server) know it’s not actually open.
