I’m creating a follow-up post to Nvidia Shield - very strange behavior viewing movie pre-play screens because this issue has made watching movies on Plex practically unusable. Every time I open a movie pre-play screen and then switch to another movie, the second one jumps back and forth between it an the first one, and lands on the first one (i.e., NOT the one I have selected). This means I can’t even play what I selected unless it is the first one selected.
Today I noticed another manifestation of this. I had a movie collection open. Selected and watched one of the movies in that collection. When it ended I went back into the collection, but the screen immediately switched back to the movie I had just watched. Went back to the library view, then back into the collection. The collection information displayed briefly, then the screen immediately switched back to the movie I had watched. Over and over, until I close and restart the Plex app.
This is 100% consistent: every time I open a movie, then a second movie, the second one’s pre-play screen bounces back to the first movie (and everything else on the pre-play screen follows - cast, etc.). This makes selecting & watching movies almost impossible without closing & restarting the Plex app. Something is seriously broken.
Both the server and the client have been updated since my first post to the most current versions, with no change to the broken behavior. I’m not seeing other reports on this, and I can’t believe a problem like this wouldn’t show up in release testing, so that made me wonder if my database is corrupt. And yet none of this happens on any of my other Plex clients, so I don’t see how the database could be the culprit. Can someone in Plex support please suggest a course of action? Thanks!
