Bug - Photos Timeline does not update if Photos Metadata Refreshed

I had to update a bunch of home photo and video files created date as I had copied them to a new drive and did not realize they had changed.

I refreshed the metadata and the Photos Library reorganized it self correctly but the timeline for the photos did not.

Others have had this issue and have found a drastic workaround (deleting the server and reinstalling)

Having same issue as well. I had to fix the created dates (by updating them to the modified dates) on my photos using a bulk utility as I had copied them over to a new drive which messed up all the created dates. That worked fine. I refreshed the meta data on the photos and it updated fine in the library but the timeline didn’t updated. How do we refresh the metadata for the timeline or get it to update itself?

Photo Timeline: force update of updated exif metadata, how?

Hello, I am pleasantly surprised with the new timeline feature in the photo library. I noticed that some of my pictures/photo’s were wrongly tagged, so I updated exif metadata (with jhead) However, Plex does not seem to pick up those changes. I tried “Scan library files”, “Analyse” and “Refresh All Metadata” from within the context menu of the library, but changed were not detected. The only thing that works is removing picture refresh all metadata adding picture again refresh all metadata …

But it is not a real fix and would take me a long time to rebuild all my metadata and I would loose all custom changes.

Can we get an acknowledgement from the developers that this has been added to some sort of bug list to get fixed at some point as it has been hanging around since 2017?

Also is there a directory or files in the Plex database folder that I can delete which will initiate just an update of the timeline?
