[BUG] Plex server settings are unavailable. Nvidia SHIELD - PMS 1.15.8.1163

Never using a plex beta again if this is the kind of support we get for helping them test their software.

I’m in the same boat w/ my shield as well. Just installed the latest update through Google Play, and immediately ran into the Server Settings Unavailable message.

Ugh, same here.

Just tried uninstalling app updates. DO NOT DO THIS.

I completely hosed my entire library. Can’t connect to my PMS on Shield any longer. Why the @%&* is this app such garbage when I pay for it.

I think I’m going to need to wipe everything an start over. Infuriating.

Thanks for the heads-up, I had started to think about doing that given the complete silence from Plex staff/devs on this one.

Will continue to sit tight and see what happens.

It IS particularly annoying when a major snafu like this is not even acknowledged, there is zero official communication, and no “timetable to remedy” is even being discussed. That’s all I really want as a first step.

(The bigger “Non-Communication” and “Respect For Your Paying Users” issues are probably for another thread … and have been done to death around here anyway).

Just wanted to stop by and say I too am having this issue with the most recent update unfortunately.

Welcome to The Club with all us other “losers”!

Unfortunately, the only way I got mine to work again was to uninstall the server updates through Google Play. I then had to re-install the server updates and add libraries as if it was brand new. I’m turning off the Beta channel until this is fixed and stable.

I wish there was a way we could back up the metadata for the server on the Shield so we didn’t have to start all over again.

So I did this and now for all my libraries, I’m seeing “There are no items in this library”. It’s completely unusable.

Are you able to re-scan your libraries to find your media?

Same issue as well. The metadata is VERY annoying as it will not pull any new data to the shows or movies I add. Created a very strange conversation when Don’t Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood pulled the s.e.x. scene from the beginning as the poster lol. Glad to see I’m a part of the ship, part of the crew.

I ended up removing the Shield TV’s USB storage after a factory restore and I was then able to configure Plex again and start from scratch. I’m currently running it without any additional USB storage.

Yeah I refuse to go the nuclear option. Too much meta data to rebuild. Get your S together Plex and fix this.

New update fixed it for me! Check it out in the other thread - [BUG] Server configuration is not available

Finally working again. Pretty big regression, so hopefully they implemented some testing around this.
