[BUG] Plex server settings are unavailable. Nvidia SHIELD - PMS 1.15.8.1163

After the last beta Plex Media Server ( 1.15.8.1163) update on Nvidia SHIELD, I cannot access the plex settings through the web page. The “plex server settings are unavailable” message keeps showing for each option, but I can watch content.

This was brought up in another thread… I hope PLEX is seeing this and putting out another patch ASAP, as this makes any configuring of the PMS worthless.

I made a backup of my database, uninstalled all the Plex Media Server updates, update it again to this version (1.15.8.1163) and now everything is working fine. However, all the metadata needs to be gotten again…

Same here, no way to edit any server setting even connecting through chrome in shield tv (localhost:32400 gives also 404 Not Found
hi @elan is there any plex ninja to fixe the latest PMS update on the shield ?

same here. My plex media sever won’t even start in the plex client. Only solution was to uninstall the plex media server and reinstall it. Of course it has to scan my entire library over again. I wish it could store a backup somewhere…

I have the same exact problem. I see it fixed the movie trailers playback issue I was experiencing. But now I can’t edit any server settings. Not even thru the Plex Media Player application.

I’m also having the same problem with this version 1.15.8.1163. Keep getting the “Server settings are unavailable” message on the Plex web portal

I am having this same problem as well. Additionally, getting metadata for new movies is not working for me.

I am having the same problem. Would be great for a moderator or Plex employee to acknowledge this problem.

@henriquefer11 could you edit the title of this thread to start with [BUG]?

It tends to get the attention of the Plex Devs more effectively …

Cheers

came to post the same issue. I hope a fix is in the works! very frustrating bug!

same here, any plexninja out there to solve this ? No scrapper and no server settings  i guess it should be enough to have at least a feedback if a fix is in progress

Unfortunately, the only way I got mine to work again was to uninstall the server updates through Google Play. I then had to re-install the server updates and add libraries as if it was brand new. I’m turning off the Beta channel until this is fixed and stable.

I wish there was a way we could back up the metadata for the server on the Shield so we didn’t have to start all over again.

Intelligentle,

I know there have been a couple of posts about this on the nvidia shield and a couple of guys have gotten this to work. With over 8000, there is no way I am going to reset my server over this. It sucks big time but I will wait it out.

I completely understand @ASiDiE. My libraries are getting bigger too, so this will ultimately not be an option for me either in he future.

One thing I just noticed after downloading my IOS logs… if you go into those logs and look at the Server version… its showing this for me:

Plex Media Server v1.15.0.504-b456bf3b7 - unknown PC unknown - build: ios-aarch64 macosx - GMT -06:00

Now I think it’s getting all the info from where you pulled it from (IOS) in this case. But the build number… shouldn’t that be 1.15.8.xxxx?

Just hoping we can get an UPDATED version that fixes the basic functionality of the Plex server.

Hell, just increment the build number of the last one that worked and send that OUT. This should have been done hours after release.

@ASiDiE That would have at least helped people who hadn’t already updated from getting the bad version - but it may not have done anything for those who HAD already updated, or even made it worse perhaps? Hard to tell without knowing the exact nature of the “oops” - it may indeed be a true FUBAR and we all end up having to uninstall/reinstall/setup again/reacquire metadata/replace custom metadata. Hanging off doing anything for now in the hope a fix emerges. Server is working normally to watch stuff, and I’m holding off adding new media.

I am also holding out for a fix.
