@Commodore1581 7349 is not enough of the version number to know what you’re referring to. Can you please include the entire version number?

Does anyone know whats going on with this? cause if i want to see what movies I have from a certain actor it’s either not showing any of my server or not all of what I have with 1.32.8.7639 and that’s why I’m still using 1.32.5.7349 because it does show correctly as you can see in the pictures
The server logs haven’t turned up much.

I’m not using a browser to watch plex, i’m using the latest player app with the old 1.32.5.7349
server. What would browser logs provide?
I’m reinstalling the latest beta, i;m going to “refresh all metadata” for my movies library and see if that does anything. If it doesn’t I’ll provide the logs from that.

here you go, refreshing metadata isn’t working, AND I tried directly through the server through the web interface and it just doesn’t show the movies actors are in from my server libraries with (I guess anything after) 1.32.5.7349 unless i keep clicking back and forth and if i close the player and go back in, the list is blank again.

Does the server setup after version 1.32.5.7349 handle actors data differently? is there some sort of conversion or library update? cause i cant keep clicking actors and seeing a blank list or a list with just movies from other servers on it. I have the latest server on now while the meta data refreshes. It’s going to take hours, so if that even will update anything we’ll see before I downgrade

its like actor metadata doesn’t get updated unless you click on actor, click back, click on actor cause I can see the wheel spin and it flashes that it’s updating metadata from a couple of that actors movies. If updating actor metadata is what it needs for the new versions, how do you do that? it do i have to update ALL the metadata in all my libraries on my server (cause it’s already messing with some movies and rematching them wrong)
yes, it seems to be actors metadata and the way the new server acts.
Is there anyway, besides individually clicking on a actor, to have it update the metadata for them all at once?
Doing it by hand works but it takes FOREVER for it to populate correctly and save and i have to click each person by hand while the other servers i share with show up automatically
and to be honest, im not sure it’s actually saving the metadata, i just clicked on adam sandlers profile, i had it showing all his movies that i had on my server. Now they’re gone again only listing the shared servers until I leave, go back to his list of credits, leave, wait then go see if it correctly shows his movies are on my server.
If this is going to be a mission to get fixed, can you just tell me which player version and server version show this correctly, with the old preview page with the WRITER and DIRECTOR on there next to the video and audio so I can just downgrade and turn off upgrades

yeah same here, i did a total metadata refresh and now i have to click on EACH ACTOR then wait like 5 minutes for it to populate the movies, this is insane
I did a total metadata refresh on my movies library
when i click a movie to go in the details page now, everything is blank until it downloads the info, then if i click a actor 80% of the time it wont show my library until i click home, wait a minute then go back to the actor, THEN it says the my library is available but it wont list any of the movies i have in my library of him until it rerefreshes the metadata for each movie that actor is in, and this is after i did a whole metadata refresh from the library settings that took forever.
Is there a way to fix this cause im not clicking on 25,000 movies or actors to get this all fixed right.
Older server versions populate instantly with MY server being the main one
I dont understand what changed since PlexMediaServer-1.32.5.7516-8f4248874-x86_64 (cause that was the last version that worked with searching and displaying my library without jumping through hoops). any 1.32.7.XXXX server version is breaking the actor metadata and putting OTHER LINKED PLEX SERVERS FIRST. What changed with how this part works with 1.32.6.xxxx
and 1.32.7.xxxx?
I had to go to a 1.32.5.7516 (tried it after 1.32.5.7349 and it worked fine)
so there’s something different with the 1.32.6.xxxx and 1.32.7.xxxx server versions and the way it looks at stuff.
go back to PlexMediaServer-1.32.5.7516-8f4248874-x86_64 if you’re using windows, search and previews and actor lists work, there’s something wrong with the 1.32.6.xxxx and 1.32.7.xxxx servers
My problems went away when i downgraded to 1.32.5.7349 or 1.32.5.7516

I dont know what to say, no one will tell me what got changed or ■■■■■■ up since 1.32.5.xxxx cause EVERYTHING after that ■■■■■ up search and actor metadata. and with 25000 movies and 1500 tv shows and a 1000 cartoon series (i dont even care about the music) it’s pissing me off that I paid for a lifetime pass and im being either ignored or told its on my end. Agreeably 90% of people probably dont look at the actors credits and see what they have, and just click something they want to watch but for a collector, whats going on is PISS POOR, its ALMOST as bad as your discovery privacy leak. Why dont you people test ■■■■ before you release it or if you do and there’s something we need to do on our end to make it work like before TELL US and not make people who know where to go to question/complain do it.
Right now im like what 7 versions behind because the metadata works? whatever you switched that ■■■■ to the new version is 10x slower getting the metadata and 70% of the time it doesnt save the actors credits. im starting to agree with people in the discovery thread its time to find something else if you’re going to play games like this. You got my money so what do you really care if my ■■■■ works right or not? Being ignored, and told there’s no problems with other people saying there are is a huge insult
This issue is difficult to reproduce and therefor difficult to identify the root cause. These things can take time. All your logs are attached in the internal issue tracking this. I think your tone is a bit excessive but I get it, you’re frustrated and I’m sorry that you’re frustrated.
In the mean time, while combing back through this thread I see that no one mentioned anything about Optimize Database & Clean Bundles troubleshooting actions. If you’re still on anything above 1.32.5 can you please run these two actions and attempt to reproduce the issue. If you are still seeing this issue, can you DM me your downloaded DB and I can attach that to the internal issue as well.
Of course im frustrated, This only started after 1.32.6.xxxx series started. and yes ive done all you said and here, here’s my database,
I dont know what to say, im getting to the point where the threads go weeks without being updated. and I KNOW theres something wrong with 1.32.6.xxxx and above if the previous versions work FLAWLESS with search and showing credits, and its NOT A METADATA UPADATE issue, i did that yesterday with the latest beta and then i had to click every thing and wait 2-5 minutes to get updated metadata that disappears when you close the plex windows app on a different machine.
here here’s the logs. Im sorry you feel tension from me, but its deserved because i PAID for this and no one is telling me whats wrong or they are blaming me and my server for the problem when other people report the same thing.
Im glad i didnt get a f-u when i said the player wouldnt play certain codecs before and it got fixed but now i feel im being blown off.

What device is your PMS installed on? My PMS is on Mac. There are some bugs with Plex that only happen when installing PMS on a specific system, and I’m wondering if it could be because the server is on a MAC.
