I noticed this in the last update that was removed and figured it would get fixed but the latest server update yesterday brought it back.
When I’m looking at movie information and click a actor, my server isn’t listed as a source under “media libraries”, only the servers I’m shared with. If i click back and click the actor again it sometimes works. This also happens with searching, it wont show the media being on my server but just the ones that I’m shared with. It’s weird cause if I revert back to the version prior to this that you told us to because of the encoding, the searching and media libraries show up fine. Anyone else seen this?
Example, I click “raiders of the lost ark” then i click harrison ford to see what movies he’s in, under “media libraries” it doesn’t list my server, just “the ones I’m shared with” and the list of movies he’s been in only show what’s on that server or free on plex.
If i click back click him again sometimes it brings all the media libraries up.

@Commodore1581 While on 1.32.7.7571 were you only observing this on Web or the Plex for Windows desktop app? Did you observe this on any other app?
In some cases I have noticed that a movie or show or library will need to have it’s metadata refreshed. After refreshing metadata for the item or library this issue is no longer being observed.

I may have the same problems with Apple TV latest Plex app installed. I noticed that the Cast, when clicking the actors nothing happening, and all of the images of the cast and crew is gone.
Seems to me it is working with Plex web and Plex for windows.
I’m going to refresh metadata and see if I still have same problems with my both AppleTV’s.
This sounds like a separate issue with cast images, cache, and/or PMS image transcoding. The issue in this thread involves the PMS availabilities from a person’s Discover Credit page.
I havent downgraded ANYTHING but the server here are my player and server version.
I cant go higher than this version without it not telling me i have items on the server without play games and going back and forth.

and to be honest with all the issues im having with the updated player and server beyond this version, im not clicking update and i know im screwed with the player cause i double click it and it just updates, even if i downgrade through the cache folder, it’ll auto update so i’m not playing with that.
there’s the server im using that works fine and theres the player that works fine and DOESNT ■■■■ UP aspect ratio. so i dunno, i feel like i paid to be forced to beta test at this point
again once i saw 1.32+ was doing this and the player was screwing with my apsect (and no im not jumping through hoops and changing setting running legit 4k on windows to make plex happy. if it doesnt work right on a 4k nvidia 4090 in hdr then it would be nice for you to say so, so i find a new way to watch and stream
To disable automatic updates on the Desktop app open %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex\plex.ini
Find the [debug] section - add one if one does not exist
Add disableUpdater=true directly under the [debug] header
Save your changes

any info on this? if I use 7571 it happens on pretty much everything and search is still bonkered.
I don’t want to do a full refresh of all my stuff since I had to manually match a lot and I’m scared it will mess that up
I have the same problem, sometimes it shows my own library, other times it doesn’t and it seems random. There are also times when only a part of the film shows the source from my own library and the other part doesn’t show my own source.
Every title I go to is missing my libraries unless i click back, and go to it multiple times to have it finally show up so I can see the actors list of movies and stuff. Then it goes away again sometimes after I leave. It’s fine with the older server version I posted I’m using and the latest player. Search also doesn’t work, it doesnt seem to search any of my libraries in exactly the same way.
How can I make the xml available to you via the forum please? Does the xml contain personal information? Can it be posted publicly in the comments? @Atomatth
Here’s my situation, using Ryan Gosling as an example, there is no problem searching and you can search and see that I have 8 Ryan Gosling films in my library, these films are in two different libraries of mine, but in Movies & Shows in Media Libraries there are only 2 films listed in my server, with the name of the server below the poster, Only two have my server. The Media Libraries section only shows one of my libraries, and when you click on it, you can see that there are 5 Ryan Gosling films in that library, there are another 3 (6) in my other library, but this page doesn’t show those.
Sorry, the numbers are a bit confusing, and I’m finding that the search is actually having issues too. I have three films within my library/server that aren’t showing up in the search results either. These three films doesn’t list my server.
The new beta STILL wont show things from my libraries when I search or click on a actors name, even updated the metadata and it just wont show anything from my libraries. This is through the player and the web interface direct on the server.
had to downgrade the server again, had to go back to 1.32.5.7349 search works through the player and web interface again, and so does clicking on actors names. And again, it’s all files and any actor i click from it, it shows the list of their movies, and every OTHER server i share with or if it’s on plex, but it wont list if their movies are on my server
Example, go in to a movie with say Sylvester Stallone, it lists all the servers with his available movies but my server doesn’t show up at all, I click his picture to see the actors credits, it lists all his movies and every server/on plex except for mine even though I KNOW I have 99% of the movies he is in on my server. Refreshing meta data didn’t work, reverting to 1.32.5.7349 makes things go back to normal. This is the same with searching through the search bar, wont show anything from my libraries.
Thanks for checking with the latest Beta, I was hoping that some of fixes in this release would be helpful for this issue but maybe not. @Commodore1581 Can you please install 1.32.7.7616 again, observe the issue, download your logs, and share them with me?
here are the logs, i updated to 7616, when and did some searches and it only showed ONE of the other servers I share with when I have most, if not all the works of the people I clicked on.
I downgraded again to 7349 and everything works again
Just a update, I see there’s a new server version posted. I wont be able to test it yet to see if it fixed this issue as I lost a drive and even though i have the empty trash disabled, I don’t want to update and risk it updating my library until I restore those 2100 files next week when the RMA comes back. I wanted to update you so this thread stays open until I test the latest version at the time once I restore (already backed up the database just in case but you never know)
I just updated to the latest beta and it’s still not displaying actors in my library correctly
my server is called “extra large with everything” and you can see it shows SOME things from my library but others from a server im connected to even though I have all of those too,
see attached. Again, this isn’t happening with 7349
