well that’s great… I’m using a almost year old server still since every upgrade after that breaks searching and actor credits. Literally, if i search for something with one of the newer versions it will show every server that has it that i share with EXCEPT MY OWN.
In my situation, some actors’ Credits pages display my server, while others do not. Sometimes, even for the same actor, their Credits page may intermittently show or not show my server. However, even if the Credits page does not display my server, I can still search for content on my server using the search bar. So, this issue does not affect my ability to search for movies on my server, only the Credits page. Although there have been instances where the search page displays incomplete results, I haven’t compared them one by one. In any case, I can still search for content on my server, so the issue isn’t particularly serious for me.

it’s obvious they don’t seem to care. I use the actor credits stuff a lot if i want to see what else I have that a actor is in (like if im watching snatch and i want to see what else i have with jason statham so i can watch more) and it just wont show what i have on my server.
at this point, they got my money so what do they care
@Commodore1581 Are you still observing the Scanner issues you reported in DM? This may be impacting Search if the server is busy fighting the Scanner. I have your DB running right now and Search is working. Where there any specific examples where search isn’t working? Or just any title?
I’m able to reproduce the Credits page issue where the server availability is not listed initially but does show once stepping forward then back. The fix for the Credits page issue is being actively looked into. There is a more efficient endpoint that can be used here. However, as I mentioned above, there was another issue that was raised when we were initially looking at using this endpoint. This wouldn’t impact Search at all.
If you’re still having issues with Search we can break that out into a separate thread and keep this one focused on Credit page availabilities missing.
The scanner works 90% of the time, it just crashes at 2am scan time once or twice a week, and i think its related to my audio books like said in the PM. I removed the audio book section and will see what happens. I’m going to update to the latest server and see if search works without audio books, if that’s the case I’ll get rid of the audio books I added from the time this started.
I did see i have a bunch of these in plex media scanner credits log files at the end

none of the other “plex media scanner” log files have anything failed, just a couple of those credits ones.
I’m updating the database now to try search, will update in a few mins
edit, yes search is fine with the latest beta, just the credits still dont show nor do my libraries under actor credits.

i dont even care at this point, i’ll stay at this version ( 1.32.5.7615) until things get fixed
I dont care about the scanner issue, it just pops up it stopped then restarts automatically so its a annoyance, but the credits thing is BIG ISSUE for me cause i like watching movies then saying “hey what else was that guy in that i can see” and then with anything over 1.32.5.7615 i get NOTHING that’s on my server and it takes like 3 minutes to show me whats on the servers im connectected to and mine NEVER show up unless i click back forward back forward over and over and the best part of that? IT DOESNT SAVE so if i close plex and open it again, that guys metadata is gone and i gotta do it again. so I’m just staying at this year old version until you guys fix it since you said its a known issue and its being worked on, and i guess not as important as selling extra services.
annoying but what can i do, this works for what i do for now until a different encoder format comes out that forces me to upgrade. cause right now everything works fine, HW/HW+ encoding is fine on this AMD from main10/hdr to 480p for people who dont know how to config their player, everything works. I’ll keep posting once a month until this is fixed though, and again, i dont care about the scanner issue, its absolutely NOT the actor credit issue.
Yes, I really don’t know what the staff are busy with. They have been ignoring some very simple fixes and modifications for years. I’m already quite helpless.
The users, with the aid of third-party tools, have independently resolved a greater number of issues than the staff. As they continually upgrade, they inadvertently introduce additional bugs, rendering many previously functional features unusable.
Is this fixed with any of the last two updates in the last two days that say they address actor credits?
and no, im not about to beta test ■■■■ for you guys again only to be ignored.

I’ve loaded up your DB again and the issue of not immediately returning your PMS availability on Credits pages is still present on 1.40.2.8312 (most recent beta). Checking on the PMS change that should help with this and it’s in review. Once this PMS change is pushed, clients may need their own changes. I don’t have any ETAs for when these changes will be out.
at this point i dont even care, i just click “skip this update” until one of you guys says its fixed and tells me what to do. I keep adding media, it all plays back fine with the server version i use since its direct stream on a local network (i dont really care about the 4 remote users i have anymore, HW/HW+ seems to work and no one complains so i just leave it alone and keep adding new media).
its been almost a year so i’ve literally given up on this being addressed
@Commodore1581 @x1ao4 During testing, another employee who had previously reported observing the issue in this thread, stated that they no longer observed the issue on 1.40.3 (Beta). Might be worth giving it a shot. There is nothing specific that is targeting this thread’s issue but it be a product of the Analysis improvements/fixes.

my stuff doesnt come up unless i click on a actor multiple times, then if i close the desktop player and go back in all that stuff is gone
so no, the beta didnt fix it
hey great suggesting that cause it didnt work, and when i downgraded it destroyed my database and now my server runs and instantly closes. good looking out

can i have a refund for my plex pass? cause with 1500 tv shows, 800 cartoon series and 25000 movies with many had to be hand matched, i’m super upset, and it’s been a YEAR since this was reported and you guys have ignored it basically. This service now, is not what i paid for with other services out there that will stream my stuff and actually work correctly. A YEAR, ITS BEEN BROKEN FOR A YEAR
@x1ao4 dont do it if you’re running a old version, the new version makes it impossible to downgrade, my server is destroyed now cause of this
well now i have no choice but to keep using the updates since the database is destroyed and says corrupt after a downgrade back to 7516
