Hi guys, as you all probably know, Plex just released a stable version of Samsung Plex Player for 2016 TVs.
If you have any problems with this version on your 2016 TVs let us know in this forum section.
Also, we await for pro feedback.
I have a KS8000. I played a movie this morning no problem. Later on I got a black screen with audio playing ok. Now Plex doesn’t load at all, a bunch of text appears on the screen I can’t read. I’ve restarted the app and the tv and it still appears.
subtitles causing switch from direct play to transcoding
audio gaps during direct play for 4K content
Both problem are known and they existed in the previews as well, for the first one a fix will come at some point but for the second one they’re blaming Google’s and Samsung’s players. Unfortunately, blaming is not fixing and the way I see it Samsung’s player works fine from USB and Plex DLNA so I’m not sure how it misbehaves when used by the Plex player.
Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: Tizen 2.4.0 Plex 3.84.2
Thank you so much for continuing support on this version!
Issues
Unable to access two remote servers. I’m able to access them on IOS, Android and Roku. I changed the recommended settings in updated Samsung app and still showing unavailable.
High quality video, downloaded from HD Homerun, original quality starts at a random quality like 3.7 Mbps, 720p HD (used to do 2.6Mbps, 560p) and stutters to the point of unwatchable. On Roku and IOS it streams fine and same episode pops up even quality like 4 Mpbs 720p. 1080p movies ripped from blue-ray play smooth on same setup. I started getting the black screen with lines of code today as soon as my server version was updated to 1.15.0.659-9311f93fd. My TV is Samsung UK65KS9000F running the app version 3.84.2.
Is there a way to roll anything back or am I without PLEX until they fix it?
Have you tried the old preview? You can find it here, maybe it helps Samsung 3.84.1 Preview
You can also try to downgrade the server since you said it worked before the update.
I made a film of my TV to catch the error so you can see it with your eyes:
Proof: Filmed black screen and buffering (731 MB) - black screen and buffering appearing at 4:46.
same issue here with my UN55KU7000FXZA. mine auto-updated and all i get is a black screen with a bunch of code. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed it for one time. after closing the app and going back in some time later i get the same results. usability of this app has dropped way off…hopefully to fixed soon!
Another 3 uninstall reinstalls today .
Im not asking for a rollback as this version is fine for some people just a link to the previous working version so those with the problem can at least use Plex til fixed
I have the same problem with this new version, it was the same at your first release of this new interface. I don’t understand why since the previous version hasn’t this problem. For some videos the sound is ok but for the video it’s most of the time black with some flash of the content. It’s not for all the videos that’s why I don’t understand and also like I said there is no problem with the previous one. It’s like a problem with the decoding of the video.
