Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: 3.84.2
I am still experiencing the black screen with code issue. With previous versions exiting and restarting the app would do the trick. Please advise.
Server Version 1.14.1.5488-cc260c476
App Version 3.84.2
TV Samsung 2016 UA65KS9000
Played 1 show then black screen with code
Had to uninstall then reinstall
Is there a link to the old UI version so I can roll back til fixed
I have 2018 Q8FN and since 3.84.2 was installed, all is running beautifully. I now do not have that annoying message saying I have lost network connection and everything seems to play fine. Keep up the good work.
Anyone else here with black screen on 2016 version?
Should I go for update?
Update killed Plex on my Samsung 7 Series (UN65KU7000) – black screen with code. Uninstalled/reinstalled. Rebooted TV a few times. Updated server… still black screen with code.
edit: never ever had an issue with previous versions. Server Version 1.14.1.5488
same issue here.
No issues here
TrialMaster, Interesting that you are on the 2016 ‘K’ series with no errors as reported above, so there is hope I’m still not updating yet, early days.
He’s a liar
Wants to fk me up
I don’t have this issue. I have others problems which still require a fix but I never experienced the black screen on KS or KU.
I have KS7002.
I hope I haven’t mislead. I purchased in 2016, the model is UA65KS8000.
Yes, K models are 2016.
Official thread created for us at [Bugs] PLEX Player 3.84.2 - Samsung Tizen 2.4.0 - 2016 TVs O N L Y!
I spoke too soon. The network is not connected message is back and now I have to do a hard reset of the app to get out.
Bugger.
We’ve been unable to reproduce the problem on our end, and the last preview build we did, nobody had any issues with the black screen anymore. We’re not sure what has changed, but we’re finding it extremely hard to track down this black screen issue.
If you are getting this black screen error, please give this custom build a try. It has extra logging so that we can try to pinpoint this error. You can download it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lZWqwbUJCI35_WgsKFaP0YTACcR6ueVr/view?usp=sharing
Do NOT uninstall the old version of the app, as maybe that could play into the reason this bug happens, and we want to try to capture it. If you get an error when installing, then you can uninstall the old app first. To install this build:
- Grab a USB stick
- Create a folder called
userwidget
at the root of the USB stick - Download the .zip above
- Unzip the contents into the
userwidget
folder - Plug USB into TV
- Install should happen automatically. Once it’s done you can remove the USB stick
Use Plex as normal, and if the black screen comes up, press the yellow button on your remote. This should send us some logs to look at and hopefully track down the source of the problem.
Thanks
Not tried the custom build yet but I’m also getting blank screen with code since the update on my Samsung KS8000.
For what its worth I much prefer the old UI, this seems like a step back to me and a lot more difficult to navigate.
Yep, I have that issue too.
Hi, I downloaded the extra logging client this this link, installed on a USB stick, installed on TV, started, running, playing a movie in it now. No problems so far, will let you know if the black screen returns.
