Camera upload not working

Bump!

So I’m having issues too, the camera upload works, but you have to leave the plex app open on the camera upload screen, as soon as the phone locks itself it pauses the upload, very annoying and useless!

I have a similar setup to tonyself and have the exact same problem. I previously asked about this issue as well but didn’t receive a response.

Same here .

Can we please get any update on this?

I know in other threads it was said more devs are going to be helping. I’ve seen one this is truly getting pathetic, I had some issues with emby and staff replying in hours I know number of issues etc can be different but come on you are pushing people away.

Yes that is definitely an annoyance when it was working for me. This not working thing is super annoying. Since yours is working, just wondering, do you have your photos uploaded to subfolders? I use subfolders, iOS 11 and iPhone 7S

I am getting this error and not able to upload images!

I’m getting the same error. From what I can see, my last upload completed 11/11. I’ve enabled logging and attached my log sans my public IP and token. I check the IP and it does work. I did recently retire the Plex server which I originally set up with syncing.

I’m wondering if I just need to clear the app data and re setup the app on my phone but that would erase any data on finding a proper resolution.

Unreal. This is still broken. Using iPhone 7 Plus, latest plex server (as of today) and latest iOS client. I’m also running the latest PMS (plex media service). I’m starting to think about migrating to other products at this point. A reliable photo backup is necessary

Camera upload was working for me, but stopped a few weeks ago it seems. When I tried to jump into Camera upload just now I got a new kind of error:
Camera Upload error
Someone else is already using camera upload.

Have null select the Living Room Dell desktop Server and then return here to make changes

The Server is named Living Room Dell desktop, but the rest of this is impenetrable.

Can only one person in the family upload their mobile photos to “Camera Upload”?
If so, how do I resolve this one?

Any solution for this yet? Current plex server on windows 10. Current IOS player on iphone 6. Worked great for a year or so now broken. Plex dev please help us.

Please Plex, fix this and stop spending the time rolling out new products when some of the best features of your existing products don’t work as advertised. Please put the time in to fix issues. Quality over quantity.

Camera uploads are broken for me too. Using Plex on Android (Pixel 2) and PMS running on Windows 10 + NAS. It worked for a few days after I setup the phone, but no new photos/videos have gotten uploaded since Dec 5th.

Annoying thing is that the setting to enable camera upload keeps getting disabled automatically. Every time I open the app and hit “Enable Camera Upload” it says everything is uploaded, but of course I can’t see it on the server. There is no error in the app either.

Glad it’s not just me then, I can’t get my ipad mini to share pics with my Plex server.

Mine is also broken, with PMS on windows server 2016.
Diving into the server logs and the temp folder where the files initially are uploaded to, it looks like the files are being renamed before copying, but the file copy expects the original name.

Example:
Jan 14, 2018 20:49:11.781 [4360] DEBUG - Upload complete (Content-Length: 578664398), safe to delete temporary file C:…the_plex_temp_folder…\WP_20161016_18_06_07_Pro.mp4.inProgress.

Jan 14, 2018 20:49:11.797 [0640] ERROR - Exception handled: boost::filesystem::copy_file: The system cannot find the file specified: “C:…the_plex_temp_folder…\WP_20161016_18_06_07_Pro.mp4.inProgress”, “P:…the_plex_media_folder…\WP_20161016_18_06_07_Pro.mp4”

Paths obfuscated for…no real reason…
Anyway, as you can see, it’s looking for a file that does not exist, ending in that “inProgress” extension.

While the file was uploading, that temporary file did, in fact, exist.
However, when the upload completed, the “.inProgress” was removed from the filename, and it’s still sitting in the temp folder. When the phone tries again, it is immediately rejected and says “Bad Request.”

Sounds like a change was made to mobile upload code but not actually tested…

Another fix release that failed to address the camera upload issue on IOS. I can’t even find an acknowledgement from the Plex team of this being a problem. It’s great that so many things are supported by the Plex team but in reality no one thing is truly supported.

Bump. Same issue here with android

mine works but I have to do it manually, its no longer does it in the background. Also it seems to update ALL the photos and not just the new ones.

Do you use IOS? Plex has never worked in the background for me. My camera upload hasn’t worked at all since updates I got in November! This is embarrassingly bad. A premium feature, heavily marketed and no reported attempt being made to resolve the problem. I was a strong supporter of Plex but this has changed my opinion on the product. If there is some trick to get it to work then I’d love to hear it. I tried reinstalling server and app. Clearing cache, changing download locations etc I have tried

Yes I use IOS. I just went into the app and it uploaded just the new photos this time. As far as I know the app has to be running so make sure its not closed. I just started using it again about a month ago because when I tried it when it was first released it didn’t work for me. I don’t have a trick so can’t help you there.

Thanks. Do you create a library and album? I use both. Did you have to reset your camera upload to get it to start working again?

I deleted the camera album months ago, so when I tried it again a few weeks ago I set that part up new and its working fine. I set everything up through the plex app on my iPhone.
