I was in Phoenix for the past weekend and went to start up the Plex and played an episode of Two and half Men and it worked went to play a Movie and it crashed. I could still see the NAS drive and access it remotely and see everything JUST NOT THROUGH Plex. I have the Log but it doesnt mean anything to me so does anybody know how and what to look for on the log? came home and fiddle with it a little and got it back up and running I think I turned it off and back on again.
Hmm. Nothing stands out. At the end of the logs, PMS is trying to generate the poster image for something twice. I wonder if this is somehow related. It’s your metadata item 37790.
To identify what that is, use Plex Web and brose to any movie. In the URL you’ll see something like
“key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F4414&…”
That number between the %2F and the & at the end is the metadata ID. Replace it with 37790, hit enter, and you should see the video that it goes with.
“key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F37790&…”
Was that the movie you were trying to play? If so, there might be an issue with the file.
Yes I have it narrowed down to Jurassic World that is the metadata ID. It was loaded twice under dashboard. Can or could a movie cause the server to drop offline?? and or because it loaded twice cause it drop offline?? Just asking trying to narrow it down to what happened to keep it from happening again. Start playing Jurassic World here at home noticed it took longer than most other movies to start playing maybe by me being impatient and starting it again in Phoenix is what caused the server to go offline.
Appreciate the help on reading the log.
There may be something wrong with the Plex database regarding this movie and bad data can cause issues with PMS. Do the Plex Dance for that movie should fix the issue if there is one.
