As of last week with the plex media server update I no longer can select anything other that Plex Movie when searching for the information about a movie. I used to be able to select the Movie Database and some other choices. Now it is limited only to Plex Movie. How can I correct this?
Yes, I believe I have absolutely the most current version of the plex media server software.
I guess I am confused what is the purpose then of the agent settings for movies, shows, artists, albums, and photos? It says select which additional agents should contribute to metadata? Is there really a point to this setting if all the agents are hard set to Plex Movie? Also, there is no real point to having a drop down choice for the Agent in the Fix Match screen if all that can be selected is Plex Movie?
The settings under Settings -> Agents apply only if you’re using the Plex Movie (Legacy) or The Movie Database agent for your library; the “new” Plex Movie agent uses aggregated information from multiple sources already. And all of its settings live in the advanced section of your library configuration.
The dropdown is still relevant if your library is configured to use either the Plex Movie (Legacy) or TMDB agents. I suspect the list is dynamically populated based on what is meaningful for the library’s agent. Since you’re using the new Plex Movie agent, and per the linked thread above, the only relevant agent to show for your library is Plex Movie. Were your library configured for one of the other supported agents, you’d have additional choices in the list.
