Can other people view my media when I upload it to Plex

Sound like a silly question but I was a little paranoid. Just found out about this website/install this morning
I installed ‘Plex’ as I want to be able to look at my Media files from PC to my TV (I have Chromecast so I presume it will work? I just need to figure out how to)

I made an account and it started uploading my photos/music etc. But does uploading my personal photos etc allow for ‘Plex’, whether its the owners of the website, or its users, to view my media somehow? I know it sounds silly…

I got worried so I cancelled the upload, and in the ‘Library’ section, clicked and deleted the media library of the photos, videos, and music.

1 Does this completely remove the media files or just the library itself, and the media is secretely stored somewhere?
2 Once I get clartification, I will most likely re-upload the media to Plex once I know its safe

Many thanks for reading,

Regards,

A new Plex user

You do not ‘upload’ your media files in such sense to Plex. All your files stays on your computer. And it is protected from outside access in its default setup (though be careful if you are on a internal network such as a college campus or similar).
