Can Plex android app stream/cast to any bluetooth device?

Hi there,
Sorry for the noob/already asked question, but I would like to know if the plex android app can stream or cast to any bluetooth device ? I kinda think no, because when I press the cast button the plex app only shows devices running a plex client. For example I can see my Samsung Tablet from my Samsung phone in its Plex app only when the tablet also runs the Plex client. When I shut the Plex app on the tablet, it immediately disappears from the bt devices list on my phone.
So my question is, am I right ? And if yes why does Plex do that as I have a Plex Pass ? (I run a Plex server on my lan with a plex pass account)
I wanted to buy BT DAC to stream music to my HIFI, like the Audioengine B1 which does nothing but passing audio from its BT reciever to the cinch outlets through its DAC. No way to put a Plex client on it. Is there a way to get my Plex app stream to this kind of devices who are unable to run a plex client ?

Casting and Bluetooth are totally different protocols. What you need to do is pair your client (phone, tablet, etc.) to your BT DAC using BT and then just play your music. Instead of using the clients speakers it will send that audio through whatever BT device it is connected to. It’s like connecting BT headphones to your phone and then playing back something on Plex. I hope that makes sense.

@Blkbyrd Makes perfect sense indeed. Been focusing on the Plex built-in cast function for audio, when I can simply select the BT speaker on the Android part. So I guess casting goes through WiFi only ? But then how come I can cast to my Chromecast connected to my TV ? Does Plex have some sort of code to recognize Chromecast devices seamlessly ?

Your Chromecast must be connected to the Wi-Fi for it to function. Once that happens any app that has the cast function built into it will see it connected to the local network and be able to cast to it. The tech is much more complicated then that but that is a very basic explanation of how it works. Bluetooth depends on an actual connection between the devices involved, that is why you have to go through the pairing steps.
