Following installation of the Plex server on my Synology NAS drive, i added to the plex library by locating the “video” folder on my NAS drive. However, whilst i can see the movie folders on my dashboard, when i try click into the folder i receive the message “There are no items in the library”. I have followed the naming convention as instructed within the help section.
Check the file access permissions in the dashboard. Make sure that the user you connect with plex has access to the directory (read and execute) and to the files (read).
I realize this is an old thread, but in the Synology admin insterface (http://synology:5000/, for example), go to Control Panel, User, select the plex user and choose Edit. Select the Permissions tab and give the plex user Read/Write access to the folders you wish to have Plex access. The “no items” message will go away once the user has at least Read access.
