After 15 minutes of starting plex - My remote connection bombs out. I get the “not accessible outside of your home network message.” I can still use plex on my internal network. I turn of the remote access or click retry and it will usually fix itself - only to fail again after 15 minutes.
I’ve attempted
Letting Plex manage without a static port.
Specifying a manual port targeted against my static IP address
Turning off and turning on NAT-PMP
I don’t know why this is happening ‘all of a sudden’ the only change has been updating to newer versions of Plex.
I tried down grading to the nonplex pass version of PMS. What can I do?
There are 2 ways to setup remote access UPNP and Port forwarding.
Lets focus on port forwarding as UPNP can be unstable.
Please setup and verify your port forward by going to canyouseeme.org and verify Success on the port you setup.
Once that shows Success we can get Plex stabilized and try to reconnect it.
I’m able to connect via can you see me after I restart the remote connection.
I have a static internal IP address and port forwarded port 32400. The connection works just as it should for about 15 minutes - then I loose connection. Rinse and repeat.
Have you by any chance restarted your device where port forwarding is setup? usually your router…
Can you try to do that and see if it fixes it?
If that doesn’t fix it of if you don’t want to can you specify a different port besides the default 32400 and setup port forwarding for that and see if that helps stabilize?
What was happening was my Mac mini updated to high Sierra which in turn reset my energy saver settings - every 15 minutes my computer would go into sleep mode.
