Can’t find my PMS data files on MacOS

Hello,

I’ve followed the information in the Plex wiki trying to locate my PMS files on MacOS (M1 Mac mini running the latest OS version 13…5.1).

According to this article https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/, it should be in Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server. However, there are no PMS folders there at all. There are folders from other software but not Plex. I tried creating one to see if Plex would recognize it but it does not.

Any suggestions? Thanks so much in advance.

Not quite. It lives in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/. That squiggle-slash at the front means “your user’s home directory.” In Finder, click Go then hold the Option key on your keyboard; then select Library in the Finder list on the left. That will be your user’s Library folder. From there you can navigate to ./Application Support/Plex Media Server/.

If interested the squiggle-slash is called *Tilde ~

Haha, indeed. I had a specific reason for going with the wording I did, but it’s not really important :upside_down_face:. Taken to its logical extreme, I probably should have gone with “squiggle and forward-angled-verticle-line.”

At any rate, I hope it helps the OP find their wayward Plex data directory. I’m sure it’s there somewhere.
