Cannot Access Shared Media Server from Android Mobile

Server Version#:
Player Version#: 7.26.0

I am not certain of what server version my friend is using.

I have been given access to a friend’s media server. On my desktop and in my app, it shows online. However, I have no dropdown box available to view or stream the media on his server.

I have paid the one-time fee to activate my app.
I have adjusted my settings to “Allow insecure connections - Always” and cleared my cache and force stopped the app. I have also deleted the app and reinstalled it.

I navigate to a library (movies and tv) and still have no dropdown for the server available. What am I missing?

Not sure I can follow you…
Do you see the content of your friend’s library when you open Plex via Plex Web (e.g. app.plex.tv/desktop) or the desktop app? If so… can you play media from there?

I’m not entirely sure if this is only about the Plex client on your mobile…
As for that… are you logged into Plex on the mobile client with the same account?

Sorry for the confusion. I am able to view the library using plex.tv/desktop. I have not tried/downloaded the desktop application.

I am not able to view it using my Android Mobile app. I am logged in with the same account, and under the “Users and Sharing” menu, I can see the shared server and that it is online.

I just do not have any drop down within the mobile app to be able to view or stream his media.

If you haven’t pinned those libraries yet, they should be listed thin the navigation menu under More.

Thank you so much. It turns out this was an issue with my work Wifi restrictions, but I turned it off and have now pinned those menus so I don’t have to worry about searching for them again.

Thank you for your time on this today.
