Cannot add any new folders or new drives to libraries, but old ones still work

Got a new hard drive today and added it to my windows PC, copied some movies to it, shared the folder but Plex can’t see them when managing my libraries with https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#! i.e. the folder is not on the list for me to select in Plex

I’ve added new drives before and they have worked, and my new drive/folder can be seen by other PCs so sharing ‘works’ to some degree. I also tried sharing a new folder from an old drive (which has a working shared folder on it) and it doesn’t work in Plex either.

I’ve copied permissions and folder/drive ownership from the working folders.

I’ve tried a bunch of windows folder sharing tips and regedits but still no go.

Win10 Pro, PlexWeb v4.72.0, FireFox, Nvidia Shield is my server - PC just holds the media.

Anyway this could be a Windows update issue, (I am a little behind)? Though the fact that some folders I added a while ago still work makes me wonder? I’ve been at it for 5h and I’m at a loss what to do next…

Edit: I tried accessing Plex via the Shield with http://192.168.0.136:32400/web but it could not see the new drive or new test folder either.

Solved: Holy frig I was loooosing it. I went to go to the shield, and remove the PC as a connected device and then re-add it. Then both the new drive and the test folder showed up.

My mistake was that the issue was not on the PC itself, but the connectivity between the server (shield) and the PC.

This sounds to me as if your Plex server is actually NOT running on the Windows PC, but only on the Shield
