I have a plex server running on my NAS.
I had some network changes so removed the plex server from app.plex.tv.
Now I have no way of re-adding the server. There is no option in setup to do it.
Am I going crazy?!?! Where is the server wizard???
Log out of the server and back in, should re-claim it
EDIT: use Open http://<NAS IP>:32400/web
No luck. Nothing worked.
Had to delete and start from scratch
A little late to the party –
-
Stop Plex
-
Remove the
Name="Value"pairs from Preferences.xml for
– PlexOnlineUsername
– PlexOnlineToken
– PlexOnlineMail
– PlexOnlineHome (if it exsts) -
Save the file
-
Start Plex
-
Open an INCOGINITO window to http://ip.addr.of.qnap:32400/web
Now it will invoke the claiming sequence + setup wizard. Skip through the wizard as appropriate.
Thanks. If it happens again, I’ll try that. I assumed the admin options would be available in the GUI.
Now it is re-indexing and starting from scratch, but whenever I try to claim the server, it spins and does nothing. Any ideas?
if it spins – 99.9% of the time is because it’s not able to authenticate with Plex.tv
Stop Plex.
Grab the Logs
It’s easy to see what the problem is.
Okay. I will wait until it has re-indexed everything tomorrow and go from there
When Plex starts – “MyPlex” looks for the connectivity
- it finds the ethernet adapters and gets their IP addresses
- looks for one which has a path to the internet
- figures out the WAN IP and which adapter to use
Make sure that both the QNAP and your workstation is on Private Address Space
