Cannot add media to Plex

I’ve installed Plex on my Synology DS218+ NAS and when I open the app it has me sign into Plex. After signing in I click on “Your Media” and it tells me that I need to “get plex media server”. But the package has already been installed so somehow I’m stuck in a never ending loop. I’ve also tried downloading PMS to my desktop. When I open the desktop app it tells me the same thing…that I need to “Get Plex Media Server”, which is what I just did.

Please help, I’ve spent several hours searching through forums and trying to follow other suggestions without any luck. I’m not as tech savvy as many of the other users, but probably know enough to troubleshoot with some guidance.

When setting up your server, you need to access the locally provided Plex Web client on your server. You cannot use Plex Web from https://app.plex.tv/desktop#.
