Cannot Claim Plex Media Server

I’ll start by saying I am new to all this and not really an IT whizz. Im just OK.

I recently purchased a new router and assigned a static IP for my Synology DS920+ NAS.

When I started up Plex, it couldn’t access my shares anymore. So I decided to re-install Plex and fingers crossed this ‘fixed’ the issue. Didn’t work. So I uninstalled again and deleted my shares thinking this would do a ‘clean’ install. Rebooted… installed and now I can see my NAS, but refuses to ‘claim it’ no matter what I have done. I have signed out of all devices. I have deleted all devices Authorised devices other than my NAS/PC on PMS.

I used a tool called Claim It I found on this forum, but that failed and said…

PROBLEM: getting plex.tv Authentication Token… Job Aborted
Error was : The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred
FATAL ERROR: … job aborted.

I have read a heap of other posts… pulling my hair out here LOL…

Your DSM configuration in Control Panel - Network needs the DNS / gateway updated to point to the IP address of the new router
