Cannot claim server after changing routers

I recently changed routers from an airport extreme to an amplifi alien.

I run plex media server on my Synology DS220+. It ran perfectly until I switched routers. When I changed routers, the IP addresses changed. I can log in to Plex on the web and it now sees my PMS running on my NAS, but I cannot claim the server. The account says that the server is unclaimed and not secure.
I looked at my logs and I believe the culprit is:
WARN - NetworkServiceBrowser: Error sending out discover packet from 169.254.206.231 to 169.254.255.255: Network unreachable
I see that error repeated and I believe the 169.254.206.231 address is my old Synology address. If I got to synology control panel > Network > Network Interface, I see that address listed as a LAN 2 DISCONNECTED DHCP.
The LAN 1 CONNECTED is a different static IP (the new IP of the server).

I’m not experienced at all in this field and don’t know where to go next and how to claim the server. Help?

Grab a coffee and read some of the excellent pinned articles in NAS & Devices - Plex Forum and let us know as much as you can based on what they tell you to do, what you did, and what you saw. I’ve heard the “repair” option in synology can make things difficult. so read first

Thanks. I’ve looked through much of the pinned articles. What i could understand didn’t pertain to me and most of everything else i couldn’t understand. Any chance anyone else could be of more assistance in helping me understand what the solution is?

Okay i found a thread that says when reclaiming or reinstalling PMS on the DMS that i should have used the first radio button (keep) option. I remember not doing that, instead i selected the second option and gave up the claim to my server. That might be where i went wrong?

Plex Media Server cannot communicate with hosts at plex.tv. Therefore, it cannot be claimed and registered with your plex.tv account.

  1. In Synology DSM, verify you have the correct default gateway address, 192.168.107.1, configured for Ethernet 0. Control Panel → Network → Network Interface → LAN 1.

  2. In Synology DSM, go to Control Panel → Regional Options → Time.

  3. In Time Setting, choose to synchronize with NTP server, and choose one of the listed public servers (ex: pool.ntp.org).

  4. Then click Update Now. You should see a “Successfully synchronized…” message and Status = Normal. This is to make sure DNS is working and the DS220+ can resolve host names.

  5. In Package Center, stop, then restart Plex Media Center.

  6. From a system on the same subnet as the DS220+, go to http://192.168.107.2:32400/web.
You must use the IP address of the NAS. Do not click “Open” in Package Center. Do not use app.plex.tv, a domain name, etc.
You should be able to login and claim the server.

  7. Once you have claimed the server, you can then login via app.plex.tv, etc.

Edit: If you have already uninstalled Plex Media Server, then go through the first four steps above. Then, re-install Plex, choosing the Plex Claim Token option. The installation routine will lead you through obtaining and using a claim token. The installation will take one to two minutes longer, as it has to communicate with hosts at plex.tv. Once complete, your server will be claimed and you can access it via http://192.168.107.2:32400/web.
