Hi, I’ve been searching in forums for a while but didn’t find any solution that worked for me.
I can not claim my Server anymore. When I press claim, the button is rotating for a while then stops and prompts me to sign in. When I enter my credentials it spins for another ~20secs and then the Error “there was a problem signing in to plex” pops up. Funny thing is, I actually get signed in in the rop right corner. I signed out there and tried it again with the same outcome. My credentials are 100% right because I could sign in on plex.tv with them.
deleted plugin folders: webmanager.bundle and siteconfigurations.bundle
I don’t really know about the logs but I got some errors in them:
Apr 10, 2016 12:48:30 [0xad7ffb70] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 6
Apr 10, 2016 12:48:30 [0xad7ffb70] WARN - HTTP error requesting GET https://plex.tv/users/2143b538ac10145d/avatar?size=34 (6, Couldn’t resolve host name) (Couldn’t resolve host ‘plex.tv’)

This is from the Plex Media Server 1.log if you need something else please tell me. Given IP is my PCs IP
Thx for the quick response but that didn’t work for me. I need to claim the Server to watch on my Samsung TV, FireTV and Mobile Phone otherwise it either says “you have no permission” (or something like that) if it goes over IP or it doesn’t find the Server if it connects via my account.
Ok, it works on everything besides the TV now… already reinstalled the plex app on Samsung Smart TV and entered the pin on plex.tv/pin
It says “there seems to be a problem: user doesn’t have access to any servers or shared content” retry brings up the same window again and continue brings me to “unable to switch user: user doesn’t have access to any servers or shared content”. He accepted the pin in first place though
Sadly not, I even reset the whole Samsung Hub but it didn’t help and since I can not claim my Server I thought it is a server side problem yeah, it looks like an Samsung Hub issue, will try it there
Sorry… I’m really dumb. I got a new switch about 2 weeks ago and that somehow changed my default gateway which was no problem for any of my devices but the DS which I didn’t notice first because I could even connect to it from outside my LAN. Only that in combination with Plex was generating issues. Still don’t know why some services worked and some did not… but well… I changed the Gateway in my DSM and now everything works fine again.
Thanks for your tip of going over plex.tv -> launch… there I noticed that it doesn’t find my Server!
I have a similar issue. I recently upgraded my plex server running fedora. As soon as I logged in, it showed as a unclaimed server. When I try to claim it, i receive the same error as above, i.e. Unable to Sign In to Plex.
I have removed it from Devices. Now, when I log in to plex.tv > launch, it is not recognized. However, if I log in via http://:32400/web/index.html#!/dashboard from a browser on my mac, then I do see it. However, when I try to claim it, I get the same error.
I realized that my Apple TV and iPad Mini were still logged in and accessing the original version, so I have logged out of all devices accessing it. I tried to log in again to plex on my Mac (plex.tc > Launch) and I still don’t see it. However, again, I can access it via http://:32400/web/index.html#!/dashboard but still get an error when I try to claim it
I logged back into Plex on my iPad Mini and Apple TV, and it looks like I can see it as a “Nearby:” server that is not claimed. It shows it as “Nearby (xozai)” (xozai = my username) where as the other servers that I have on my network show as claimed (Green lock) and as “Nearby”. That makes me think that my plex server on fedora thinks it is claimed by another user. Thoughts?
For me it was the internet connection from the server. You can check it if your Movie Coverpictures load if you add a new movie for example (which wasnt working for me either).
Check if your DNS works, try Google or Open DNS. Try if you can reach your server from phone while not in the same (W)LAN.
There is a DNS issue. Try adjusting your DNS to google’s dns (8.8.8.8) or see if there is a setting in your modem. The modem was my issue. It is a new Arris modem
