Unable to "Claim Server"

Hi

I’m getting the message “This server is unclaimed and not secure”.
Clicking claim server eventually gives popup “there is a problem signing into your account”
When I click the user icon (top right) I can see I’m signed in.

Have made sure t the “default gateway” and the “preferred DNS server” match.
Also the “Manually configure DNS server” is checked.
Have also tried this:
" ssh -l admin -L 8888:localhost:32400 ip.address.of.machine
once signed in (that’s all you need do), go back to your local browser and open http://127.0.0.1:8888/web "

Any help much appreciated.

DSM 6.1.4-15217 Update 5

When you at “Settings - Server - General” in the web browser (http://127.0.0.1:8888/web) did you click Show Advanced ?

Thanks for replies.
no .pid, but was a preferences.xml so deleted it, restarted server then got this..

Chuck: not sure , will take another look..

Sorry, yes show advanced is enabled
Plex version is Version 1.10.0.4523
I downloaded an updated version but on installing got popup stating my hardware not supported.

Ok…

Now I would like you to

  1. Sign the browser out (upper right corner)
  2. Go back to Settings - Server - General
  3. Claim it.
  4. It should respond by asking you to sign in
  5. If it does not, we’ll take the next step and soft-reset it

Asked me to sign in but the this popup

Thank you for that.

That’s a connectivity issue between DSM and the internet OR a problem with the Plex share.

When you first attempted to setup PMS, did you open the browser to http://ip.addr.of.synology:32400/web ?

It is on your LAN ?

Hi Chuck,

This post is an exact replica of the problems I am having with my Plex server. I had the same issue with claiming a server. I tried your suggestion of signing out and back in and got the same thing zooKcx did, the Unable to Sign In message. I have also already tried signing in directly after going to “http://ip.addr.of.synology:32400/web” as you said. However, I’m lost after that. I have browsed some other posts and tried some of the things mentioned there, including uninstalling the server and re-installing it but nothing worked. I have attached my latest logs, let me know if I can give anything else.

These things do not exist/happen in Linux

Thanks for the help ChuckPA and trumpy81. I read the forum rules and was trying to not start a new thread if not needed. I will go over to Windows forum and post if I can’t find an answer there.
