Cannot Claim Server

Noticed last night that my pms was online, could use local address to enter gui but was getting the “no soup for you” error stating I didn’t have rights to access the server’s media. Checked account to make sure nothing had been hijacked. Server claim simply was not valid any longer. Went ahead and restarted docker, added new claim token from website generator, started docker again and still same issue. Checked logs and while I see a line in output stating it is attempting to claim server nothing follows and syslog continues w/o the claim with rest of startup for PMS. Tried rebuilding docker file and manifest. Even tried some “official” builds & all have been to the same end result.

How am I supposed to setup my server again absent of the claim system which appears to not currently be working?

I’ve also had this issue since approx this time yesterday. It’s a really tricky one to sort out. I managed to fix this about 5 weeks ago when it also threw this wobbler but can’t remember how I did it!

In my case we had a freak powercut yesterday which may have jiggered router settings etc. Not worked since.

@8064r7, have you managed to claim the server and get your Plex working yet? I have, unsure what step actually got it going, but I rebooted my router, checked all the wires, reset my antivirus and firewall to default settings and signed out of everything Plex on all my devices. Now working - hope you get yours sorted :grinning:

Yeah, I had to do some fiddling with my .yml file but I got everything to start seeing and then doing something with the claim info.

I also can’t claim my server anymore. Reinstalled the whole OS on my raspberry Pi, and tried setting a server up on mac os as well. Any ideas? Very frustrating

So when you reinstall the PMS, are you not getting the first time setup acknowledgement at all? I ended up having to not only start with a fresh docker instance I had to complete wipe any backup database I had (only thing I kept was my media files). If you can check out the syslogs what I had to do is identify that not only was there a line that the claim code was being sent but that there was also a response from Plex’s centralized servers (which I guess many of us were not getting lately).

Are you just running a bare metal instance of PMS on RPI or MAC or were they in a docker? What does your manifest file look like?

thank you for the quick response! I did get a first time setup guide since I deleted all settings. After setup it just hang up connecting to the server in the webinterface and after a couple of minutes the site reloaded itself and the server was gone again. (after resetting the tokens in prefences.xml it will come back but hooking it up with the account again resoluts in the same problem).

Yes it is a fresh image of raspbian (RPI4) and a clean mac os with no docker

I have exactly the same problem. I have an raspberry pi and tried to install plex.
I also tried reinstalling rasbian lite, reinstalling plex, setup a new account, but nothing worked.

Ok i solved the problem for me by logging out from account, logging out at plex.tv directly, restarting device. Then access via IP adress and every worked (for me).
