Cannot Claim Server

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#:

I have been having a number of issues with Plex in the following order.

1.) I added new movies and it would no longer match the film with metadata. I tried using different agents but nothing worked.

2.) I tried to reinstall Plex on my Synology server but now I am unable to claim the server.

3.) It also appears that I am stuck on release 1.18.5.2309. When I try to upgrade to 1.23.2.4656 it says the file is not compatible.

Any thoughts? I am totally locked out from doing anything at this point.

“Not Compatible” will occur if you upgrade to DSM 7 and try to install the DSM 6 package of the reverse.

DSM 7.0-42882 (RC) has additional issues which will be fully fixed in the upcoming PMS PlexPass release.

If you go here, I have an interim package which works with DSM 7.0-41882

Hi, This didn’t work for me unfortunately, getting error “There was a problem signing in to Plex”.

I am signed in though.

Same problem as 1 & 2 described above. On Synology NAS DSM7 with plex server 1.23.6.4881-7000 (e2e58f321) installed. (plex indicating update is available…but there isn’t)

here they are

Thanks a lot, been struggling for way too long. Just changed ethernet ports, restarted and everything worked!

Hello,

I’m having the same issue. PLEX has been working just fine for many many months and then all of a sudden, can’t connect. I’ve tried the steps as provided by Trumpy81…I was at least able to see the NAS drive again. But I’m unable to claim it.

I have a Synology 920+, DSM 6.2.4-25556, PLEX 1.24.0.4930-6000

Also…PLEX seems to think there is an update package, though as far I as know I’m on using the latest for DSM 6.0+

See screenshot…

Also…almost forgot… How do I secure the NAS for PLEX??

Any suggestions?

Logs Attached…Thanks

Tried this and still unable to claim it…

When it says “Reboot the modem/router and everything connected to it, including any wireless devices.” How explicit is this? I ask as I have many devices connected…ie HVAC Thermo, Smoke detectors…etc. Some items are cumbersome to shut down…it’s almost easier to flip the whole house breaker to reboot everything…haha

What do you know…turns out all I had to do was go into Synology>Control Panel>Network>General and click to manually configure DNS server… I then did that with 8.8.8.7 and 8.8.8.8… wallah it now claims it…

Odd that for all of the time I’ve had the NAS and Plex, I never needed to manually configure…but for some reason now I did…

What about that notification that and update is available. Is that only saying that as there is an update to DSM 7, even though I’m on 6?

Yeah you may be right… newly added movies are not pulling in data such as poster, background…all the good stuff… but for now I at least have access to the library and able to claim it.

HI, I’m having the exact same problem as above, logs attachedLogs.zip (2.2 MB)

Hi I fixed it. Quickconnect was also not working and following the troubleshooting guide for that and it fixed the Plex problem too
