Cannot connect PLEX server from PS4

Hi all

I'm unable to connect to PLEX media server from my PS4

Configuration:

I'm running PLEX media server most updated versions on my PC.

WEB - 2.3.8

Server 0.9.11.7

Firewall is off.

When i'm trying to open PLEX from PS4 i receve the PIN for connections. After PIN verification i receive the massage that "No media server found".

I checked the network router, firewalls.

Also im able to browse and play video from my mobile.

Is there any configuration on my PS4 that i can check?

10x

Have you confirmed that your media server is signed into Plex? https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200878643-Sign-in-to-Your-Plex-Account

Great!!! Thanks!! My mistake. Now it is working.

Same problem. Until Yesterday it was working perfect.

Now it is saying No media servers found.

I tried to sign out sign in again but still nothing.

Yes the media server is signed into plex as i can access my library through plex.tv/web/app.

Thanks

Hi miniop, I can definitely help you better in a new thread. It'll help keep the question and answer format a little cleaner.

Regardless, I'm not sure what could be happening. The PS platforms are super simple in their connection approach.

  1. Restarting the Plex Media Server publishes its local IP to plex.tv. This is why the server must be signed in.
  2. Next the PS3/4 requests the local IP from plex.tv
  3. The PS3/4 uses the local IP to connect to your server.

Since you've signed out on the PS3/4 already we've cleared any stored server information. So, on the next sign in we get fresh information from plex.tv.

The chances for failure are:

  1. Server is not signed in (You can fix this in the UI)
  2. Server tried to publish its local IP but failed (Logs would indicate this)
  3. Server is signed in but hasn't published a fresh address (A restart fixes this)

Hope this helps.

Hi, since yesterday, i'm don't able anymore to browse my linux server (server from OneProvider) from my PS4, i have the error message "No media server not found", but i didn't change something in the configuration, i restart Plex from my server, sign in/out many times, and also remove and re-install Plex but nothing change. It's strange, my server is connected to plex.tv because i can access it through it, already in local with my mac, but nothing with my PS4.

Have you a solution about that problem ?

Tahnk you.

Hi FlorianPetronin I think you should be fixed up now. We pushed a change around 1PM PST which should absolutely help the Plex app communicate with your server. You don't need to do anything to get the update, just start the app.

I am still seeing 'no media servers' issue on my PS4. I can connect to my Plex Server from Android phone(s) though without any issues. I am using OSX. I've noticed that app connects if I wait 20-30 min.

I have the same issue

Hello. Sorry for my poor (google translator), english.

I have the same issue too. Newly I hired a plex pass for one year.
I want to use with the app ps4. I downloaded the application and everything was fine a few days, until I updated to version 0.9.11.7

Since then the app in ps4 not find the server. In the PS4 browser it works, and in the ipad too, but the app no way.

I was looking in the forums and tried several solutions but none worked, the situation is as follows:

The server does not automatically connect (as before), but is manually mapped to port 32400. The server is connect, and I am logged in as danyyyplex
As I said earlier, it works with the PS4 web browser , and also on the ipad. But when I try with the app... "not found the server".
I have the ps4 connected directly to a router in modem mode (Nat1). The computer that makes server is a imac with os X Yosemite.
I have no problems with double NAT, checked with WhatIsMyIP.com

The funny thing is that it worked all right first, and then to upgrade, without changing any situation in the connection, router, ports or anything, has stopped going. Obviously I rebooted the router and the imac thousand times, I deleted the app and re-installed (both ps4 as in the imac)...
I don't know what else I can try. :-(
I took five days with this situation, paying for a service that can not enjoy, I'm very disappointed.

Thanks in advance,

A greeting.

Yup,

This is happening to me also.  Installed it last night.  Server is manually mapped to port 32400.  This is working because I am streaming from my office onto my iPhone without any issues.  PS4 installed in the same network as my Mac Mini running Yosemite gives me the same message "No media servers found".  Tried rebooting both systems and nothing same stupid error.  All system updates have been completed, everything is running on the current versions.

Purchased Plex Pass for this and only this and it doesn't work.  Very frustrating to say the least...

Have you tried the following yet?

Turn off the PS4

Open up PMS in a browser and go to Settings / Server / Connect

From there click Sign Out & Disconnect, then re-login and re-connect.

After this is done turn the PS4 back on and see if you can see your server

Will try this once I'm home this afternoon and post my results.  Thanks.

Hello. In my case, I have done this you mention a lot of times, today once again, if something had changed ... and "media server not found". It is the only "solution" I receive from plex, "Sign Out & Disconnect, then a re-login and re-connect" ... I'm talking that I done twenty or twenty-five times without exaggeration. And one more day, I can not use the application  :(

Try installing the 0.9.11.10 preview release as it has fixes for DASH streaming.

The PS4 I believe uses DASH

Hello. I really thought this might work, I deleted 0.9.11.7 and installed 9.11.10.844. Then, you know, "Sign Out & Disconnect, then a re-login and re-connect", and went to turn on the PS4 ... But I get the same error, "No media server found". I swear I HATE THAT MESSAGE  :D

So that seems to have done the trick.  All is good now.

Thanks!!

The issue remains for me. I've been trying different older versions of plex, as a hobby, with the same result. This will be the most expensive app I have ever bought, because I'm one step of throw the gamepad and destroy the tv.
With all open ports, and PMS running on the PS4 web browser and the ipad, I have no more ideas. In the "Devices" settings appears ps4 whenever I launch the app, but still can not find the server.
I will claim back the cost of the plex pass, the service does not work for me.
