right guys ive tried everything I can read up on how to resolve this with no luck - plex works fine on my laptop says its connected to the ps4 but everytime i try to use the app im greeted with the no media servers error im version 2.4.13 of plex on the ps4 - ive tryed several reinstalls on both systems - all the suggestions in regards to settings adjustments and im just flat out of ideas it was all working fine up untilla few days ago I think perhaps upgrading to windows 10 may have caused an issue, ive tryed reinstalling to no luck how ever, please any suggestions would be great - want to watch black sails on my big tv, and its comming close to canceling my plex subscription…
Just to be totally clear, you’ve gone through all of the steps on https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/204604227 and still cannot see your server?
Here’s the top problems and solutions. Start at the top:
- Cause: You’re signed into the web app but not the server. Solution: See Signing your server into Plex.
- Cause: Server’s Secure Connections setting is set to Required. Solution: Change the setting to Preferred.
- Cause: Computer firewall/antivirus blocks communication. Solution: Disable firewall and antivirus and restart PMS for good measure.
- Cause: There’s a glitch in the system. Solution: Follow these steps to determine if the IP address we’re trying to connect on is accurate. If it’s not please make a thread because glitches aren’t good!
Same issue is happening for me. I can see plex on my ipad, Note 3 and roku 3 but on my PS4 i get An error occured. Make sure server is online and the requested media is supported. I tried all the items above and disabled the firewall but nothing is helping my PS4. On related note it’s happening for my LG TV as well. This all started when i updated my computer to windows 10 so it could be related
I am new user and i d ont Know how to make it Work
I can not use Plex on my ipad

Hi all. I can help if you provide input. The post above has a lot of context. Thanks!

- Logged into both server and web app.
- Secure connections setting is set to Preferred.
- No Firewall running on server.
- IP address checked via plex.tv/api/resources matches Server’s address.
Media server is a Mac Mini running Yosemite.
May be related: Media server was reinstalled as I had to to a clean install of Yosemite.
Okay, made the forum rounds and kept coming back to your post @lucianod. I’m a little at a loss; according to your feedback everything should be in order. I’m somewhat dubious that either step below will directly fix your issue, although these are things I would do in a similiar situation.
- Delete the PS4 from your devices list. You’ll need to PIN in again afterwards.
- Delete and reinstall the PS4 app? We don’t have a reason to believe our stored data is bad but reinstalling the app would prove that out.
Either one improve your situation?
I had the same issue as you and basically just re-started the practice of signing out of the server, and back in again. Making sure everything was running ok.
I then got a new pin and entered it. Accepted ok.
I then just re-started the PS4 and it seems to work now.
Hope that helps in some way.
