Cannot connect to Plex externally via secure connection

Hi,

After borking my Xpenology install by upgrading beyond compatible versions, I’m trying to get Plex running on a new install of Synology 6.1.7

I have installed a fresh copy of Plex and can access through my local network via IP fine. I cannot however, access externally via secure connection, nor through any apps!

I have forwarded port 32400 (specified the fixed port in Plex) in my router port forwarding rules to the server IP, I have restarted my router and server as suggested, disabled IPv6 on both server and Plex but I still can’t seem to get it working.

Any help appreciated.

It seems that I’ve fixed it by inputting my servers DDNS url in Server Settings > Network > Custom server access URLs

Not sure why I have to do it that way, but if it works!

Not saying this didnt fix it but it may have been coincidence. Remotes been up and down randomly for some users all day, check the other threads. Mine was down just now and I was about to do this but i decided to check again just in case and it was back up.

if you can, can you remove those urls and see if it still works

Just checked access and it was showing not available outside network one minute, and then available the next. It was available outside the network even when it said it wasn’t, so not worried about that TBH.

For some reason, it’s not available when I remove the URL.

Nice. Yea the issue Ive seen is it saying its not accessible when it is and then sometimes the opposite. so itll say its accessible but when i try to access it on my phone through cell, nope!

yours might be different, cheers!
