I am having trouble playing things of a server located on my desktop. It is connected via ethernet to my wifi (Google Wifi). I cannot get my iPhone or Apple TV to see the server. I can, however, see a server and play stuff with no issue from a raspberry Pi (connected by ethernet to the Google Wifi).
It appears that my iphone can play stuff when connected remotely, but not locally, despite being on the same network. When I turn off “Remote Access” on the desktop server, the server is greyed out; when I turn Remote Acess back on, it is accesable and I can play movies again. However, I get a message about “indirect playing”.
It seems that the desktop and iPhone are somehow on different networks, which is certainly unintentional. They are both on the same network name when viewing their respective networks on each device. I have ran antivirus scanners, and no VPN is on. Any idea what the issue could be?
