Cannot "downgrade" from 1.24.2.5000 that deleted my installation

I have had a few issues with VirtualBox accessing some files it shouldn’t which causes Plex Server to crash every now and then. This morning it seems the whole Program Files folder was deleted somehow… probably an issue during the upgrade? I don’t know.

Anyway, when trying to downgrade to the current 1.24.2.4973 version I get

and then
Error 0x80070666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed.

Can I just get rid of that bundle somehow?

Disable software like CCleaner, if present.
Uninstall Plex server per the regular “Apps” control panel.
Download and install a new server installer .exe from the plex.tv website.
