I am completely lost and need help. I’ve done every single suggestion that people have told me, but I still can’t connect to plex media server from any device outside my pc. I’ve set up port forwarding and that allows my laptop to connect, but my other device will not connect even though they are all on the same network. I disabled my wifi on my mobile and used my 4g data which connected to the media server, so I know 100% fact it’s my router. I disabled the firewall and this still didn’t work. I am completely lost and confused. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just cancel my membership?
I see my public and private addresses and I’ve port forwarded port 32400 privately, but still it wont work. I have a green arrow next to both public and private addresses but I still get the same problem when I try and connect my playstation . The only way I can access my plex server is either through my laptop or 4g on my mobile.
Surely if everything is on the same network it should just connect?
Hi @CarrOliver I can help you debug problems connecting your PS3 and PS4 to your local media server. The folks over in the Windows Plex Media Server forum may be better to help.
Connecting your PS3/PS4 to your local Plex Media Server doesn’t require it to have Remote Access outside of your network. Did you go through the port forwarding exercise just to get your laptop to connect?
I can definitely tell you’re having trouble, I’m just confused what device you’re trying to connect to your Plex Media Server. Can you break it down a little for me?
Yes I did the port forwarding just to get my laptop to work which it did. If I remove the settings then I get the same problem and cannot connect to my media server. I have asked the guys in the plex windows media server forum, but nobody got back to me. I know it’s my router but I have no idea what I can do to bypass this.
But yes everything is connected to the same local network,
Same issue here. It was working fine until the a few days ago.
Tried deleting the app, reinstalling, port forwarding, but the app is done.
The latest update kind of messed it up, the forward button is unresponsive, and starts the video from the beginning, and the playback menu sometimes does not appear.
