Cannot get new UHF channel 11.1 and each of my tuners are scanning different number of channels

One of our stations in the Minnesota area switched to UHF, and when i re-scan my stations on my 2 tuners (both on the same card for my WinTV-quadHD), I get 2 different sets of channels. One has 61 channels, the other has 44. And i can’t get the new 11.1 to be the primary 11.1. The old 11.1 is still broadcasting a looped video telling viewers to re-scan their systems to get the new channel. I have re-scanned multiple times yet i still can’t get the new 11.1 and i keep getting differing numbers of channels on the 2 tuners.

I do also use NextPVR on the same system, and i re-scan (after deleting all current channels) and it found 44 stations and is able to tune to the new 11.1 without any problems.

I have deleted each tuner one at a time and re-added them, but they still keep the same number of channels and still can’t get 11.1. I also deleted my whole DVR in Plex and restarted the plex service and tried re-adding the tuners. Upon re-add, it still looks like it is caching the channels it has found in the past just like when i removed each tuner. Still can’t get the new 11.1 and the number of channels found is different between the 2 still.

Is there something i’m missing? Is there a channel cache in Plex i can clear to force it to do a full re-scan? Is there an advanced configuration where i can pick which version of 11.1 i want to use?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Did you rescan on your tuner (not within plex)? That fixed for me (HD Homerun tuner). Also in MN (Eagan). Good luck!

Ok, apparently I may have posted this a bit too soon. I don’t remember exactly what i did during some of the rescans, i may have checked all the available checkboxes, but now that i tried not changing anything, it looks like the unchecked items are channels that are getting removed by the rescan. That is not very clear as to what is going on. After setting up the DVR again and rescanning the first tuner, i was able to get the new channel 11.1. So, i rescanned the 2nd tuner, but apparently the number of channels found is not the same as the first.

This isn’t a real big issue, just interesting that within the same tuner card, each tuner is getting different channels, or at least one isn’t getting as many. I guess that this topic is now turned to more of a question if there is a way to identify why certain channels didn’t tune correctly. One big one is channel 9.1 (FOX). Kinda a large local channel, surprising that it didn’t find it.

I’ll continue trying to rescan and see what happens.

Looks like a few more scans got the tuners more in sync. Using NextPVR still has a few more channels found, but i dont think those channels matter. I’ll look into it a bit, but now that i understand what is going on a little more, i think im all good.

as for rescanning the tuner, its an internal card, so i can only scan with other tools like NextPVR or Plex. So that’s why im comparing it to NextPVR.
