I just set up a synology server (DS920+) and am having trouble getting Plex to allow remote access consistently. I was successfully sending plex streams out of the house from the server on my PC, but the synology one is giving me fits.
I can get it to give me the green " Fully accessible outside your network" message for a few minutes and can even stream from outside the network temporarily, but then it turns red and I lose access. I have tried everything in all of the trouble shooting guides.
Another weird quirk is that when i access it remotely, I can view all the files and the meta data is there, but it won’t play the videos. Says -“An error has occurred Please check your connection and try again”
For reference the server is hard wired into my ATT router, I have google wifi, but assume double NAT isn’t an issue because I am not going through wifi at all.
-Manually specified port 32400
-Set up port forwarding on the router for the server with global port range set 32400-32400 and base host port to 32400
-Turned off all firewalls on Synology/ created rules allowing port 32400
-Totally unplugged google wifi as a hail mary
So far, nothing. It is frustrating, because it is working slightly but then just stops. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I am not tech savvy enough to figure this out.
