So recently PLEX media server updated. I lost all remote access. The friends I had added to share my libraries could not access. I tried to roll back to the previous version. I uninstalled the newer one and downloaded the older from plex version history. The installer opened and finished right to the Launch Button. The launch button will not work. I checked in program files 86 and there is no plex folder. I tried restarting, uninstalling, resting packages nothing will work I am at a complete loss at how to install it. Also not sure what category to put this under…
So no idea what happened. Nothing would fix this… I could install the media player but not the server. My end all solution was to install this on another computer and then transfer the installed folder back to Program Files 86 directory on my server computer. Used the older version as well. Now it is working everyone can access and I do not have to have a manual port set.
I would imagine if this happens again I will just reformat my computer.
They should break down the categories here a bit better I didn’t see anything for technical difficulties on server side unless I’m just missing it. Either way there is way to much ■■■■ in the categories section.
