Cannot invite Home users

Server Version#: 1.18.6.2368

In attempts to create a additional user account all of my “Home Users” were removed. In attempts to invite them back they are now “Friends” with the “Home User” status as “Invite Pending”. This majorly impacts the ability for them to view content due Plex wanting them to pay for Plex pass when I already do. Anyone know of any solutions for this one?

Edit/Update: Users accepting the invite on PC are able to become “Home Users”

Sounds like you inadvertently joined someone else’s Plex Home. That will drop all users from your previous Plex Home.

If they are trying to join back to your Plex Home, they have to do it from Web. There isn’t an option to do that from the mobile apps.

users should be able to accept the invite over mobile but not with the app though. IE. The chrome browser

I have had a another user experience the same issue.
I send a invite they accept it via a mobile device (Chrome or Safari)
Then they get access to the server, except that are only added as a friend and not added as a home user. This means they lose out on many features that plex pass provides.

They should be able to accept via the mobile browser. They would see the exact same thing as on a desktop browser, there is nothing different.

If you actually meant the mobile apps (Android or iOS), then you cannot accept a Plex Home invite from the apps. You must use the Web client.

Edit - You’ll need to PM me their email address so I can see what happened. It’s possible they chose only to be friends and not join your Plex Home.

This is interesting, I knew about how users couldn’t accept invites via the apps but selecting to just be a friend is possible, my users are not the most tech savvy people. Thank you for the info.

I am having the same issue with invites as described above. edmchugh7@gmail.com is getting the (hmmm, an invite error) message

@rleveland There is no Plex account under that email address. They must have used a different email when creating the Plex account. As previously mentioned, that won’t work. The emails must be the same.
