Cannot login to plexamp on mobile data

Server Version#: 1.27.1.5916 (QNAP x86_x64 version)
Player Version#: 4.2.2

Hello,

I am having an issue logging into the plexamp on my android phone. While on mobile data, I cannot log in. Entering my login info and pressing Sign In comes with an unknown error. I get the same error if I press on Sign in with browser.

If I turn on WiFi, it will sign in just fine, but mobile data will not work. The only patch I found is taking the SIM card out, putting it in another phone, turning it on, then putting the SIM card back in the other phone. Then it will work, but it eventually fails with we cannot access, we’re bummed error.

The thing is, the unknown error comes up immediately. Since it happens so fast I can’t imagine it’s doing much. So I’m not sure where to find the logs for the android app since I can’t log in to access the settings.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, and installed different versions of the app. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Almost certainly your cellular provider blocking access to Plex.

Settings > Advanced > Debugging has logging.

Hello,

Thank you for the response. I was unable to hold down the Sign In button to capture a log. So I signed in with WiFi and turned it off to get back on mobile. I was then able to get the log from both the settings menu and by holding down the sign in button.

Plexamp.log (2.7 MB)

Just me taking a look, I’m seeing a lot of with code -7.

Thank you again

Error -7 is CURLE_COULDNT_CONNECT. When this is the case connecting to our servers (plex.tv) it means something in the middle (or locally) is blocking, usually.

Thank you for providing insight into this. Using what you mentioned in your posts, I narrowed my search down, and I believe I found the problem.

This level of networking is beyond what I know, but I guess the issue is with T-Mobile routing the phone’s IPv6 address to an IPv4 address?

Adding the IPv4 option in the APN allowed me to connect, and it’s been doing okay. I’ll wait to see if it sticks, but I don’t think there is anything else I can do on my end besides adding the IPv4 to the APN.

Thank you again.
