I just got my server up and running on a new home network (just switched to fios) and it works great on my local network and remotely, for a time. Unfortunately I’ll come home from work to find that remote access stopped working at some point in the afternoon. Why could that be? I’ve tried everything on the Plex website and things that were suggested to me by helpful people on reddit. Unfortunately my server continues to just lose remote access after being on for a few hours. I am losing my mind trying to fix it
a list of some of the things I’ve tried:
-Port forwarding
-Setting up a static IP
-Trying with a set port and using UPNP
I am new to this and while I am tech savvy I don’t know much about networking
my server is hardware on an old gaming laptop (with all the power saving settings turned off).
